Turkey Trot 2024

The Moses Lake Turkey Trot began in 2010 as a senior project by Kelsie (Eddie) Grant, inspired by the loss of her grandparents to cancer. In 2019, the Columbia Basin Herald reflected on the event's origins: "A decade ago and a senior in high school, Eddie chose to do something meaningful with her senior project... she decided to create a fun run to raise money for the Columbia Basin Cancer Foundation." Each year, hundreds of participants gather at Blue Heron Park to run, raise funds, and support local cancer patients. Join us for this heartwarming tradition!

Christmas in July is a direct mail and online event organized by the Columbia Basin Cancer Foundation to support cancer patients and their families in Grant & Adams Counties.

At Columbia Basin Cancer Foundation, we believe that supporting our local cancer patients is a year-round commitment, and Christmas in July is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and make a positive impact.

Columbia Basin Cancer Foundation is dedicated to providing direct assistance to cancer patients in need. On average, we distribute an incredible $8,500 each month to help cover medical expenses, transportation costs, and more for those undergoing cancer treatment. Additionally, we understand the importance of nourishment during treatment, which is why we deliver over 80 meals every month to patients and their families.

“A decade ago and a senior in high school, (Kelsie) Eddie chose to do something meaningful with her senior project. Having lost her grandparents to cancer, she decided to create a fun run to raise money for the Columbia Basin Cancer Foundation, where participants would pick up T-shirts in Blue Heron Park, run across town by the hundreds, and return to the park to cross the finish line.” -EMRY DINMAN, Columbia Basin Herald
